May 15th Peace Officer Memorial Day

As you know, the week of May 12th is Police Week and May 15th (Thursday), is Peace Officer Memorial Day. To honor our fallen brothers and sisters, we will be holding a short ceremony in front of the PD as in the past. The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00.

The ceremony will begin with posting of the Colors, followed by the invocation and comments from the chief. This will be followed by a moment of silence, 21 gun salute and the playing of Taps. The Colors will then be retired.

The uniform for all sworn attending is Class A’s with covers (hat). All uniformed personnel need to be in place in front of the PD by no later than 09:45. We will have them in a loose formation until one minute before the Colors are posted. We will have a location set for all non-sworn & gusts as well. I would like for them to be in place by no longer than 09:45 also.
