Peace Officer Memorial Day

As you may be aware by now, the week of May 12th is Police Week and May 15th (Wednesday), is Peace Officer Memorial Day. To honor our fallen brothers and sisters, the Thornton Police Department will be holding a ceremony in front of police headquarters beginning at 10:00 am on May 15, 2013.

The ceremony will begin with posting of the Colors, followed by The Pledge of Allegiance, invocation and comments from Chief Nelson. This will be followed by a moment of silence, 21 gun salute and the playing of taps. The Colors will then be retired.

Please make it a priority to join us in this short, but honorable ceremony on May 15th.

Please be in front of headquarters no later than 09:45am as we will began promptly at 10:00.

Uniform for “ALL” sworn personnel is class A’s with your cover (hat). Officers working in the field can wear their uniform with short sleeve shirt, but bring your cover.
